User guide

QUICK START: YOUR FIRST 10 MINUTES

1. Open Settings. Choose the language, light or dark appearance and a voice. Tap Try voice. You can change your name and greeting later. 2. English and Spanish use the phone speech service and need no Azure key. You may need an installed language pack or internet. Estonian requires configured cloud speech; find the step-by-step Azure setup guide under Settings → Help. 3. Allow microphone access when asked. Tap GIVE COMMAND and say “Open calendar”. Wait for the listening indicator, say one command, then pause. Listening ends automatically. 4. Allow calendar access and check that your primary calendar is synced to the phone. Select your calendar in Settings → Calendar. Times follow the phone timezone; existing events keep their saved instant. 5. Add email accounts in Settings account management. Enter a display name, email address and the IMAP/SMTP details supplied by your mail provider. Outlook is a mail application, not necessarily your mailbox host. Your provider may require an app password. 6. Try one meeting or a reminder a few minutes in the future. Review the form before confirming. You can enable the other features later.

USING THIS GUIDE

The following sections list supported commands and workflows. Replace [bracketed text] with your content or account name; do not speak the brackets. Names in examples are placeholders. Speak commands in the selected interface language. Email bodies and notes are not automatically translated. Green “Available voice commands” suggests commands for the current view; red text explains errors.

MANUAL OR HANDS-FREE

For manual use, tap GIVE COMMAND before each new instruction. Hands-free listens automatically while the app is visible, not in the background or on the lock screen. Its countdown shows the time remaining until automatic shutdown. Reading aloud is not idle time. Voice commands off in Settings enables quiet manual use; GIVE COMMAND still works. Stop interrupts reading; Clear command clears the command text. Neither deletes a calendar event.

GETTING STARTED

Set up email accounts and speech in Settings. Help contains the Azure setup guide and Phone voice settings. Calendar access uses the selected synced calendar.

VOICE CONTROL

Tap GIVE COMMAND, speak, then pause. Hands-free keeps listening while the app is visible. It stops after 1, 2 or 5 idle minutes. The timer resets after your speech or the assistant finishes reading. Voice commands off disables the opening question and automatic listening; GIVE COMMAND still works. Explicitly enabling hands-free clears this setting. Turn on hands-free · Turn off hands-free · Stop · Clear command · Close · Back · Close app.

CALENDAR

Open today's calendar · Open tomorrow's calendar · Open calendar October 25 · Open next day · Open previous day · Read aloud. Add meeting / Plan meeting asks for the date, time and title. On an open calendar day it skips the date question. You can also choose Fill in manually. Schedule October 25 at 13:00 meeting called Discussion fills it. On an open calendar day the date can be omitted. Edit text opens the keyboard and stops listening. Review the form before saving. Move Discussion to tomorrow at 14:00. Delete 13:00 meeting, or Delete meeting to choose one. Recurring events are not deleted.

EMAIL

Open [account name] mail · Read mail · Open first email … Open tenth email. Ordinals: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth. The number refers to the displayed list. Next email · Open next email · Previous email · Open previous email · Back to emails · Read aloud · Reply: [your message]. Review the reply, then confirm sending.

REMINDERS AND OVERVIEW

Open reminders · Remind me tomorrow at 09:00 to call · Delete reminder call · Give me a day overview · Read message notifications · Open message notifications. Background reminders require notification and alarm permissions.

CONFIRMATIONS

Yes / Save for saving; Yes / Send for sending; Yes / Delete for deleting. No / Cancel abandons the pending action. Choose first / Choose second selects from a choice list.

SETTINGS AND HELP

Open settings · Open help. Settings subpages have a fixed Back button returning to Settings. Voice, name, theme and language can be changed there.

VOICE NOTES

Open voice notes · Save a thought · Record my voice. Save a thought asks you to dictate text, then confirm with Yes / Save. You can also type and edit notes. Dictation is up to 30 seconds per segment; repeated dictation appends. Notes have a creation date and can be searched by title, text or date. Read text aloud uses the selected voice. Say Read text aloud to hear the text, or Back to return from a note or its editor to the notes list. Turn into reminder opens an editable reminder form; the original note remains. Record my voice saves original audio locally without speech recognition. Tap Finish and save. Maximum 5 minutes; leaving the app stops and saves. Playback pauses hands-free; tap Stop to stop. Edit the title/description to make audio searchable. Notes are stored only in this app on this phone; uninstalling deletes them.

DAY OVERVIEW

Calendar first, then unread emails, then message notifications. Calendar speech reads start time and title. The next meeting card shows a countdown; Navigate appears if a location is set.

LOCATION REMINDERS

Open location reminders. Save a named place using address search, current location or coordinates, and check the map. Allow precise location and background location (Allow all the time), notifications and phone location, then enable Arrival alerts. Say: When I arrive at Hardware store, remind me to buy screws. Review and confirm Yes / Save. You can also add reminders manually. A reminder sends one phone notification when entering the saved radius, including while the app is closed. Already being inside can trigger immediately. Arrival may take several minutes; force-stop and battery restrictions can prevent delivery. No additional paid API is required. Address search availability depends on the phone. Turning Arrival alerts off pauses these reminders; ordinary timed reminders are unaffected. Saved coordinates stay in the app; no travel history is stored. Delete reminders before deleting their linked place.

SPOKEN REMINDERS

Settings > Spoken reminders enables a voice notification 10 minutes before timed primary-calendar meetings and personal reminders, including when closed. It starts off. Grant notifications and exact alarm access. Use Test alert in 1 minute, close the app and wait with sound on. Stop is in the notification. Silent mode / Do Not Disturb / zero media volume suppress speech. Estonian uses Azure and needs internet; English and Spanish use the phone voice. Ordinary reminders remain when this feature is off. New entries less than 10 minutes away are excluded; all-day entries are excluded. Calendar changes are refreshed by Android background jobs and when the app opens. Phone force-stop or battery restrictions can prevent delivery until reopened.

WALKTHROUGH: A MEETING ON THE OPEN DAY

1. Say “Open calendar October 25”. Check the year on screen too. 2. Say “Add meeting”. The assistant uses the open date and asks for the time and title. 3. Answer “13:00” to the time question and “Meeting with a friend” to the title question. 4. If recognition is wrong, use Edit text or manual entry and check the visible form. 5. Confirm with “Yes” or “Save”; “No” cancels. To change a saved event, use the move command or calendar editing. Clear command does not undo saving.

MESSAGES AFTER THE DAY OVERVIEW

In Settings, grant notification access and select the apps you want to hear. Each app can be switched off individually. After the overview, the assistant offers to read messages if active ones are available. Yes starts reading; No skips it. It announces the app and visible sender before the content. Stop interrupts the sequence. This is not conversation history: hidden, dismissed or privacy-protected content is unavailable. Notification counts do not necessarily equal unanswered conversations.

TROUBLESHOOTING

• It cannot hear me: check the listening indicator, microphone permission and hands-free switch. After timeout, tap GIVE COMMAND. For Estonian check internet and Azure credentials; for English/Spanish check the phone speech service. • Wrong recognition: read the recognized text, say Clear command and retry a shorter example. You can edit forms manually. Check the selected day and year if a date or time is wrong. • No voice: try the voice in Settings; check media volume, Bluetooth audio output and the phone voice pack. For background speech also check silent mode and Do Not Disturb. • Empty calendar: check permission, Google account sync and whether the event is in the primary calendar. Changing language does not change the time zone. • Email fails: check internet, server names, ports, encryption and password. An Azure key is not an email password. Removing an account from the app does not close the provider mailbox. • No alert with the app closed: check notification and exact alarm permissions and battery restrictions. Reopen after force-stopping in phone settings. Spoken reminders must be enabled separately for speech; try the test alert. • No arrival alert: check precise/background location, phone location, Arrival alerts and saved coordinates/radius. Detection is not always immediate. • Messages are missing: check notification access and the app toggle. A current notification with visible content is required.

DATA AND UPDATES

Mail is stored by the provider and calendar events by the synced account; notes and audio recordings are local to this app on this phone. Install a new version with the same signature over the existing app. Do not uninstall first: uninstalling or clearing app data removes local settings and notes. A source-code ZIP does not back up your notes or credentials. Do not share passwords or Azure keys in screenshots. Version 0.93.
